Margie Allen Briggs, 89, of Hendersonville, died Friday, July 29, 2011, at the Laurels of Hendersonville.

She was a native and former longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA, but had resided in Hendersonville since Nov. 2009. Mrs. Briggs was a daughter of the late William and Leona McGuire Allen. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband Calvin W. Briggs and two sons, Calvin Louis and Stephen Dale Briggs. Margie was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, LA.

Survivors include her two daughters, Patricia Gordon and Brenda Briggs; three sons, James, Jeffrey, and David Briggs; brother, Donald Allen; sister, Ethel Hamilton; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A private graveside service will be held. No formal visitation is scheduled.
