Marie W. Thompson, 85, of Hendersonville, went to be with the Lord Saturday, February 1, at the Elizabeth House. A native of Rutherford County, she had lived in Hendersonville most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Walter Chivous and Lula Williams and was also preceded in death by two sons, Steve and Chip Thompson and by a brother, Allen Williams. She had attended the First Church of the Nazarene, Hendersonville. Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband of 59 years, Homer E. Thompson; two daughters, Linda Johnson of Hendersonville and Sheila Holbert and her husband Curtis of Hendersonville; a brother, Robert Lee Williams and his wife Joyce of Florida; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two great-great-grandchildren and her chihuahua, Gizmo. A graveside service will be held 11:00am Tuesday, February 4, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Dan Blackwell will officiate.
