Martin Hayes Mann, 70, of Zirconia, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2009, at Pardee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Alexander City, Alabama, he was a son of the late Robert Lee and Lillie Mae Mann. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Mann and Jim Mann.

He was a graduate of Benjamin Russell High School and had attended Auburn Poly Tech, and Atlanta Area Tech. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and had worked as Corporate Director of Engineering with Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. He had attended Cedar Springs Baptist Church and volunteered with the Salvation Army. He had a great passion for Auburn Football, woodworking, fishing and softball.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Charlene Mann; two sons, Martin Keith Mann and his wife Diane of Flowery Branch, GA., and Scott Brandon Mann and his wife Helen of Gainesville, GA; two daughters, Regina Lynn Butler and her husband Edward of Covington, GA and April Dawn Jones and her husband Robert of Snailville, GA.; a loyal friend, “Bear”; one brother, Robert Mann of AL; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, at Cedar Springs Baptist Church. Reverend Thad Dowdle will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:00 pm Wednesday at the church.

Dad i can still hear you call my name. I miss you so very much. At times it still doesnt seem real that you arent hear . I want so bad to just hear your vouce ,hug you and tell you how much i love and miss you. I know i will see you again so until then. I love you dad

Daddy, I miss you and love you so much. I still talk to you, and I still try to make you proud of me every day. I hope you know how much you are missed Daddy…I long for the day I can hug you again. Mom sure does miss you, and so does Bear . Good night Daddy. I love you.

Daddy…I miss you still! Every day I think of you, and I need you Daddy! I wish I had another day, another hour, or even another minute to hug you tight and tell you I love you. Mom misses you too Daddy..life simply isnt the same. I love you.

We express are deepest condolences to the Mann family. We share many fond memories of the times in Mainstreet community in Stone Mountain, Ga where our families grew up together. We continue to have a strong bond with Scott and Helen. Scott has a special and long friendship with our Son’s Matt and Dean and their wifes and families.
