Martin Luther Baldwin, 88, of Hendersonville died Tuesday, September 24, at his home. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Ged and Mary Penley Baldwin and had lived most of his life in Henderson County. He loved music and sang and played the guitar. He was of the Baptist faith. His wife of 62 years, Kathleen Baldwin, died in March of this year.
Mr. Baldwin is survived by four children, Sarah Owenby of Fairview and Tillie Carlisle, Timmy Baldwin and Bonnie Baldwin, all of Hendersonville; a sister, Margie Laughter and several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, September 26 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Pastors Jim and Betty Mead will officiate.


Its almost been 3 years n I’m still not completely over you or granny passing. You guys were the best great grandparents a girl could ever wish for. I can’t wait too see you again in heaven I love you so much !
Baldwin family. I am very sorry to hear about uncle martin. I loved him very much. I did not find out about this until today or I would be at the funeral. I cannot get off of work. I will be our to visit as soon as i can. Love you all. Roger & Lisa Baldwin
