Mary Ann Lindsey Bland, 84, of Saluda passed away Saturday, February 21, at the Brian Center. A native of Haywood County, she had lived in Henderson County for most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Vernon and Dena Mull Lindsey and wife of the late John W. Bland who died in 1997. She was also preceded in death by two children, Evelyn Kay Hall and Dennis Lamar Bland and by three sons in-law, Jerry Higgins, Jesse Hall and Ralph Krusey. She had been an in home caregiver and had worked with her husband as the owners of Bland Heating and Cooling. She enjoyed gardening, dancing and spending time with her family. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Mrs. Bland is survived by four children, Patsy Higgins Rector and her husband Bobby of East Flat Rock, Judy Krusey of Dade City, FL, Johnny L. Bland and his wife Margie of Greenville, TN and Pamela Hipp and her husband Joe of Saluda; 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, February 25, in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Oliver will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times they will be at the home of her daughter Patsy.
