Matthew K. King

December 10, 1980 - December 26, 2023

12/10/1980 - 12/26/2023

Matthew K. King, born on Wednesday, December 10, 1980, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at his residence in East Flat Rock, North Carolina. He was 43 years old.

Matthew was born in Haywood County, North Carolina, and throughout his life, he made a lasting impact on those around him. Most of his career was spent in the food industry, where he served others with dedication and kindness.

But Matthew’s interests extended far beyond his profession. Known to do anything for anyone, he selflessly put others before himself, always willing to lend a helping hand. As a devoted fan of the Chicago Bears, he cheered for his team with unwavering enthusiasm. In his downtime, he found peace in playing video games, immersing himself in virtual worlds where he could unwind and have fun.

Matthew had a zest for life that was contagious. He embraced every moment with joy and enthusiasm, making the most out of every opportunity that came his way. He cherished spending quality time with his four-legged friend, who brought him immeasurable happiness and companionship. Above all, his greatest joy came from creating beautiful memories with his beloved family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph “Joe” Edward King, Sr. (July 10, 2021) and Kathy Sue Hyatt King (November 03, 2021).

Matthew is survived by his loving brother, Mark A. King, and Mark’s wife, Azucena. Additionally, he leaves behind his cherished nephew, Wiley; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and co-workers.

At this time, no public services are planned, but those who wish to pay their respects can remember him with love and kindness in their hearts by leaving a condolence below.
