Mitchell ìJuniorî Capps, 81, of Hendersonville passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Elizabeth House after a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was a son of the late Mitchell Capps, Sr. and Lola E. Pace Capps. He was also preceded in death by a sister, and four brothers. He was a shipping foreman with International Paper, retiring after twenty-eight years of service. He served in the Navy during the Korean War era. He loved playing shuffleboard and gardening. He attended First Baptist Church, Hendersonville.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Carolyn Dean Capps; a son, Wally Capps and Denise Reitmeier of Taylors, SC; a brother, L.D. ìBuckî Capps and his wife Katherine of Edneyville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Phillip Capell will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2pm prior to the service in the chapel.

Dear Carolyn, I am so sorry to learn of Junior’s passing. We Lowe’s have so many fond memories of you both. Junior was a wonderful Christian man, and we are blessed to have known him. We will keep you and Wally in our prayers.

Dear Aunt Carolyn &Wally

I was so sorry to hear of Uncle Junior’s passing. I wish we didn’t live so far away or we would be there.

I have a lot of good memories of him and have been and will continue to pray for you all.
