Norman Franklin Pruitt, 83, of Hendersonville, NC went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2023.
He was born June 5, 1939 in Tuxedo, NC to the late Alonzo Harrison Pruitt and Gladys Owens Pruitt.
Norman is survived by his wife of 63 years Linda “June” McMahan Pruitt; four daughters, Melissa Bryson (Clyde), Tammy Hardin (Wesley), Karen Stepp (Mark), and Sherry Pruitt; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Gerald “Jerry” Pruitt (Cheryl).
Norman was a hard worker and loved serving his community. He was a volunteer member of Mountain Home Fire & Rescue for 50 years. Norman worked for Henderson County EMS for 37 years. He retired from General Electric after 33 years of employment. Norman also worked for Medic and Shuler’s Funeral Home.
Norman and his wife June were foster parents for Henderson County for 13 years serving 42 children. Children have always had a special place in Norman and June’s hearts. Norman loved his family and loved serving his community. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Norman was a good friend to the staff at Henderson County EMS. For many years he would drop what he was doing to come to work to assure shifts were filled and the community was served. Thank You to Norman’s family for allowing him to always serve others.

Norman and I go a long way back. As a co-worker at Forest Lawn, he always had a smile on his face and kind words of encouragement. I was saddened to here of his passing but know that we will see him again. My prayers for him and his family.
