This will be an informal visitation and time of remembrance. The podium will be open during this time if anyone wishes to share a memory or two.

Norman H Alford, 87, of Hendersonville was reunited with the love of his life on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Pardee Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Montgomery, AL, he had resided in Henderson County the majority of his life. He was a son of the late Jack and Ira Mae Alford. Norman was also preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Durrance Alford in 2017; sons, Gregory George Alford in 2005, Mark Leslie Alford in 2016 and sister, Anne Sharpe.

Norman was a Navy veteran and attended Auburn University (War Eagle) on NROTC, where he earned a BS in Industrial Engineering. He was employed in management with Dupont for 30 years prior to retiring in 1991. He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed fishing, yardwork, studying genealogy, a good scotch and talking with others. His family was his greatest joy in life.

He is survived by his children, Catherine Alford Mason and Blake C. Alford; grandchildren, Christopher (Jessica) Alford, Emily (DJ) Kampas, Heather Alford, Chelsea Mason, Erik (Hailea) Alford Mason and Dylan Alford; great-grandchildren, Peyton Alford, Noah Alford, Leah Alford, Mason Alford, Jasper Norris and Isla Kampas; sister, Sue (Robert) Flaherty; brother-in-law, Jimmy Sharpe and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation and time of remembrance will be held from 11am-1pm on Sunday, February 6, 2022 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
