Patricia ìPatî Jean Burkholder Stepp of Central, South Carolina passed away Sunday, January 11, 2009. She was retired from the United States Department of Agriculture. Pat was a native of Terre Haute, Indiana, and was the daughter of her much loved parents, the late Paul and Ethel Burkholder.
Her favorite hobbies were reading and crafts, and throughout her adult life did custom needle work creations for family members and friends. She was an avid supporter and member of numerous botanical and animal organizations.
Pat and her husband were followers and supporters of Clemson University academics and athletics. She was also a friend of the performing arts and had been a playgoer and supporter of the Flat Rock Playhouse for over thirty years. She was preceded in death by a niece, Jean Roberts.
Survivors include her husband, lover, and very best friend, Ben of the home; two sons, Gary of Washington, D.C. and Greg of Columbia, SC; four grandchildren; a sister, Fern Roberts of Schertz, TX; a niece, Judy Komorita of Houston, TX, a nephew, Rick Roberts of Greenwood, IN; and her beloved constant companion, Sammy.
Private funeral services were held with entombment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville, NC.
