Philip Curtis King, 53 of Flat Rock went to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 6, 2012 at The Elizabeth House. Born in Norfolk, Virginia he was a son of Frances King of Flat Rock, and the late Sam C. King who died in 2007. He was also preceded in death by a son Curtis in 1983.
Philip was a man of God. He loved the Lord with all his heart. Phil was a Pastoral Minister for several years and helped hundreds of others. When he became ill, they in return were there to help him. It was like full circle of completion. Philip also loved building churches and riding motorcycles.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife Debbie King of Flat Rock; a daughter Angie Lopez; two sons Phil King and Tyler King both of Hendersonville; one sister Teresa Perry of Hendersonville; and a granddaughter Eve Lopez.
He will surely be missed. We loved him dearly.
A funeral will be held at 7pm on Wednesday at Hendersonville Pentecostal Holiness Church. Rev. Anthony Craver will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 10am on Thursday.
Philip was such an inspiration to our family! He was one of a kind. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. May God give you comfort and peace at this time. He is suffering no more! I feel blessed that God brought him into our life! Prayers and Love to the family!
We were in Jerusalem and the other Holy Land locations when Phil passed. Saw it on the computer and have been praying for your entire family. Love you and sorry we were not in the area.

We will say a prayer for Debbie, P.C., Tyler and Angie during this tough time. We can only hope that the family will have peace of mind that he is in a better place right now. Phil was blessed to have a wonderful family that loved him dearly. We hope that his good works in on earth will be continued by the many that loved and followed him. We hope that his death will not go unnoticed. We pray that maybe someone will look at what the Lord had done in his life and come to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their one and only savior. Should you ever need anything, please do not hesitate to call or email and we will be there to help.
God Bless the entire King Family.

We will greatly miss Philip.
Phil will be remembered for his uncompromised stand for Jesus in ministering to others, especially when a physical need was being met. On 2 trips to Mississippi, various local building projects and his service to churches, Phil was leading the way in the experiences we shared.
Debbie, PC, Tyler & Angie, please know that my prayers and thoughts are with you during this time. Phil is out of pain and worshiping the Lord. That is the ultimate goal of the church, and Phil embraced it so well.
Debbie King Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May the Lord give you strength, comfort & peace during this time.
Love,
