Pompeyo Castaneda

Pompeyo Castaneda, 89, of Horse Shoe passed away in his home surrounded by his family on April 7, 2023. He was born on October 22, 1933 in Matehuala S.L.P. Mexico to the late Maximo Castaneda Lucio and Antonina Alvarez Cuello.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter, Olga Brenda Castaneda.

He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Olga Oviedo Castaneda; daughters, Francisca Castaneda of Mexico, Martha Alanis of Hendersonville; sons, Nazario Castaneda of Mexico, Pompeyo Castaneda Jr. of Virginia, Joel Castaneda Oviedo of Houston, Moises Castaneda Oviedo of Houston, Sergio Castaneda of Hendesonville and Erasmo Castaneda of Mills River; twenty three grandchildren and twenty nine great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christiaan Burial will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 with Father Gómez officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM.  A burial will follow services in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Pompeyo Castañeda, de 89 años, de Horse Shoe falleció en su casa rodeado de su familia el 7 de abril de 2023. Nació el 22 de octubre de 1933 en Matehuala S.L.P. México a los fallecidos Máximo Castaneda Lucio y Antonina Alvarez Cuello.

Además de sus padres, le precedieron en la muerte su hija, Olga Brenda Castaneda.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa durante 71 años, Olga Oviedo Castaneda; hijas, Francisca Castaneda de México, Martha Alanis de Hendersonville; hijos, Nazario Castaneda de México, Pompeyo Castaneda Jr. de Virginia, Joel Castaneda Oviedo de Houston, Moises Castaneda Oviedo de Houston, Sergio Castaneda de Hendesonville y Erasmo Castaneda de Mills River; veintitrés nietos y veintinueve bisnietos.

Se llevará a cabo una misa de entierro de Christiaan en Forest Lawn Funeral Home a las 2:00 p. m. el miércoles 12 de abril de 2023 oficiando el padre Gamez. Se realizará un velorio antes del servicio de 12:00 p. m. a 1:45 p. m. Un entierro seguirá a los servicios en Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
