Rebecca Gentry Parker of Greeneville, TN and formerly of Haywood County, passed away February 15, 2009.

Born in Pennsville, NJ, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Gentry; son, Steve Gentry and her second husband, Ellis Parker.

She is survived by her son, Walter Lee Gentry of Asheville; her daughters, Karen Gentry Brooks and husband Ray, of Waynesville, and Dr. Anne Gentry Garrett and husband Gary of Clyde; her sister, Julia Dare, of Pennsville, NJ; grandchildren, Joshua Gentry, David Brooks, Stephanie Rice and Tiffany Gentry and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel at Forest Lawn Mortuary, with the Reverend Travis Russell officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Haywood County Schools Foundation Needy Children’s Fund, 1230 N. Main Street, Waynesville, NC 28786 An online register book is available at www.forestlawnhendersonville.com.

Forest Lawn Mortuary is assisting the family with the arrangements.

We are sadden by the loss of such a wonderful person that was loved by many.We will miss Aunt Becky, but we know she is in a wonderful place where there is no more pain and suffering.We will keep you in our Thoughts and Prayers.
