Rev. Clifford Middleton, 61, of Hendersonville passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010, at his home.
A native and life-long resident of Henderson County, he was a son of Artes Mae Stepp and the late Ben K. Middleton.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Middleton and a granddaughter, Savannah Kitchen.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his county in the US Army. He was a loving minister for most of his life and had been Pastor at Grace Faith Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of thirty nine years, Neysa W. Middleton; two sons, Samson Middleton and Scott Staton; two daughters, Crystal Kitchen and her husband Jarrett and Penny Summey and her husband Richard; a brother, Larry Middleton and his wife Barbara; two sisters, Joan Trantham and her husband Kenneth and Wilma Gordon and her husband Michael and numerous nieces and nephews all of Hendersonville.
A funeral will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the chapel at Forest Lawn Mortuary. The Reverends Scott Pace and Tom Martin will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Military rites will be conducted by Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post 77, Hedrick-Rhodes Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5206 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 14. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
