Rev. Lloyd William Morgan, 85 of East Flat Rock, NC was promoted to his Heavenly Home to be
with his Lord and Savior on his earthly birthday, June 18, 2022. A native of Henderson County,
NC, Rev. Morgan was the son of the late Rev. William “Bricie” and Minnie Shipman Morgan. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Loree Henderson
Morgan and sister, Helen Morgan Thompson.
In 1966, Rev. Morgan began working for the Lord with his wife, Loree, and daughter, Freida by
his side. They traveled the country singing and preaching the Good News of Jesus. He loved an
old-fashioned tent meeting, the family singing songs of that Heavenly Home, preaching Jesus is
coming soon, and seeing people in the altar giving their life to Christ. Soon after, Rev. Morgan
began a radio and television ministry, reaching even more people with the Gospel. He greatly
enjoyed traveling to the mission fields of Mexico, Haiti, Jamaica, and other countries. His heart
was missions, meeting the needs of those who were hurting and pointing them to Jesus. From
this, Rev. Morgan began Faith In God Missions. He, his wife, daughter, and son-in-law traveled
the country and the foreign fields feeding the hungry, clothing the needy, and preaching the
Gospel. Rev. Morgan worked tirelessly in the mission field, drilling wells, setting up radio
stations, building homes, and also building many churches in the foreign fields that are still
operating and spreading the Gospel of Jesus. He dedicated his life to Faith In God Missions,
laboring for the Lord. In recent years, Rev. Morgan, passed the baton of ministry to his
daughter and son-in-law, Rev. Steve and Freida Bishop. They are carrying on the work of Faith
In God Missions, continuing to labor for the Lord and spreading the Good News of Jesus to the
world.
Rev. Morgan is survived by his current wife, Margaret P. Morgan of Morristown, TN; daughter,
Freida Morgan Bishop and her husband, Rev. Steve Bishop of East Flat Rock, NC; grandchildren,
Steven Bishop (Stacy Lynn), Stacy Lund (Rev. Joe Lund); great-grandchildren, Tyler Bishop, Seth
Bishop, Eilley Lund, Kinley Lund; sisters, Alta Lewis of Hendersonville and Suzanne Russell of
Laurel Park and a host of extended family and friends.

I remember as a child looking forward to nights when Bro Morgan was preaching at Bible Truth Holiness Church in Lydia, SC. I would sit and watch attentively from the lap of my dearest grandmother.. my Cobbie… Mrs. Dena T. Cobb Lloyd. Those were the good ole days. Wouldn’t trade them for a thing.
So sorry ! He was a blessing to us all. Keeping y’all in our prayers!
To the family, I am deeply saddened by the grief you are feeling.
Knowing of God’s love for you, continue to look to him when “he will wipe out all tears from our eyes, death, pain, and suffering will be no more. ” – Revelation 21:3,4
He says death is an ” enemy that will be brought to nothing ” – 1 Corinthians 15:26
How comforting to know that this will be a thing of the past and through Christ Jesus a resurrection for our loved ones.

Our prayers go out to the family.. I know it is a great loss, but is it great gain for heaven. Our prayers go out to the family.. I know the fact gives great comfort and knowing that we will see him again. Brother Lloyd was a great man, a great and mighty soldier for the Lord! Brother Lloyd took a special interest in Doug and I, when we were in charge of Upward Camp Meeting. We appreciated his help, instruction and encouragement so very much! I am sure he helped many others as well. He certainly had an impact on our lives. God bless each of yoi as you continue to work for the Lord!
So sorry for your loss. Bro. Morgan ministered to many people for many years. He will be missed. I know he was so proud of Freida and Steve and all the kids and grand kids carring on this ministry. Sending prayers for comfort and peace during this sad time and days to come. Curtis and Rachel Branch and Virginia Atkins.
Bro. Morgan was a great blessing and inspiration to me and my family. He was a true man of God that didn’t sugar coat the word, but made you think. He had a heart for people and I don’t think he ever forgot a person, he always asked about our family by name when he saw us. He was full of wisdom and Godly advice. He will be greatly missed.
Lynn and I are so sorry for your loss. Brother Morgan was ministering at the South Greenwood Church of God when I got saved in 1975 at the age of 12. Mom had gotten saved at home that morning, Dad and I got saved that night, and my sister Donna got saved the following night. Over the years, we worshipped many times with The Morgan Family in churches, tent meetings, brush arbors, and campmeetings. And, after being called by the Lord into pastoral ministry, I was privileged to have Brother and Sister Morgan, Steve, Freida and the family minister in the church. Brother Morgan was faithful to the call of God globally for many years. His hard work and sacrifice was not unnoticed by those of us here on earth, and I believe that there is bestowed upon him a great reward for his work in the Kingdom of God. May God bless all who love him and will miss him and allow the Lord’s Spirit to be our Comforter in the days ahead.
I grew up listening to Bro. Morgan preaching he was true man of God. He will be missed.
