Robert ìBobbyî Banks, 63 of Tuxedo died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Elizabeth House.
A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was the son of the late James Everett Banks, Sr. He is also preceded in death by a stepmother, Dixie Banks; two brothers, James Everett Banks, Jr. & Chad Golightly; and two sisters, Wanda Knight & Ruth Pettet.
Bobby worked many years for Mintz Builders and was a member of Mtn. View Baptist Church in Tuxedo. To know him was to love him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Vanessa Beddingfield Banks; four children, Kim Deaton of Hendersonville, Shane Baker and his wife Sybilla of Fort Stockton, TX, Lisa Gordon and her husband Shawn, and Jason Baker and his wife Amanda all of Tuxedo; his mother, Helen Coffee; eight grandchildren, Haley & Chloe Deaton, Cameron & Mikayla Baker, Sianna & Garrett Gordon, and Faith & Blake Baker; five siblings, Ernest Banks, Preston Golightly, Timmy Banks, Jackie Morrow, and Darlene Putnam, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Mtn. View Baptist Church in Tuxedo with Rev. Sherrill Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30 PM prior to the service at the church.
