Robert L. ìBobî Myers, 75, of Mountain Home, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Elizabeth House. A native of Massillon, OH, he lived in Henderson County the last fifteen years. He was the son of the late Clarence and Lydia Myers. He retired from the Air Force while stationed in Guam. His twenty-three year military career included service in the Korean War. He worked with The Asheville Citizen-Times, and as a security guard with Pinkerton at Kimberly-Clark. He was of the Methodist faith, and was a member of the Hendersonville VFW. He loved baseball and Nascar.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Donna; three sons, Bob Miller and his wife Annette of Asheville, Gene King and his wife Brenda of Mountain Home, Steven King and his wife Cindy of North Wilkesboro; three daughters, Sheri Meadows and her husband Jim of Mills River, Angelia Suggs and her husband Ray of Arden, and Lisa King of Arden; sixteen grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be at 2:00 pm Friday in the chapel of Forest Lawn Mortuary. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Military honors will be presented by Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post # 77, Hedrick- Rhodes VFW Post # 5206, and DAV Chapter 14.

I loved my Grandpa (Bob) so very much he was like no body I have ever known before he was very blunt but at the same time very loving he was giving but didn’t allow his self to be hurt and he worshiped the ground my grandma walked on. He was one heck of a man and he will be so very much missed I love you with all me heart and soul Bob watch over us down here and be with grandma.

Our prayers and condolences are with all the family and especially Donna, you guys were always fun to be around, we had some nice times with you at Orange Lake. I bet Bob will now get to play some golf. Love you guys God be with you during this time.
