Roberto Felipeí Kidd, 52

Along with us, the world lost suddenly a dear loving friend, son and brother, who was a lifelong resident of Henderson County. Roberto Felipeí Kidd, ìBertoî/ ìBoî, 52, never met a stranger and always had a helping hand for anyone that might need one. He was always with a quick smile and joke, just whatever it took to brighten your day and make you smile, even if it were laughing at himself. He always took that extra step to make someone feel special.

Roberto is survived by his mother, Helen Morgan; father, Charles Kidd; step-mother, Kitty Kidd, all of Hendersonville; brothers, Charles Kidd Jr., Ricardo and wife Julie Kidd of Gastonia and Hendersonville, and Walter Kidd; his loving step-siblings, Gwen Hyder, Kim Marlow, Lynn Gilbert, Dawn Peters and Dale Morgan; niece, Jennifer Kidd and great-niece Jules Morgan Kidd, both of whom he truly loved and adored. Roberto was preceded in death by his step-father, Charles Morgan.

Roberto will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and more friends than can be counted. Roberto was a 1977 graduate of East Henderson High School. He was previously employed at Eaton Corp and Borg Warner of Fletcher, where he worked most of his career. He later volunteered helping others less fortunate and delivering Meals on Wheels. Roberto had so many talents and interests; he loved photography and was a great photographer (A Kiddís Eye View Photography) and writer of songs and poetry. Roberto loved nature and had a ìgreen thumbî, enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, crafting, and was good with his hands. Many people come through our lives, but the world was truly a better place because of Robertoís brief time on it. He will be missed, but never forgotten. He may be gone from this world, but shall live forever in our hearts, minds and loving memories, no one can think about Roberto without smiling. Roberto, a better son, brother or friend could not be found, until we see you again, I LOVE YOU!

A Celebration of his Life will be at 2:00 Friday, in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your charity of choice, or just take time to help someone; that is what Roberto would do.

Lost touch with Bo after I left Hendersonville, but I thought of him often. Just woke from a dream that featured him and decided to look him up. I was saddened to find this memorial. He was a living man who helped me during the dark time when I lost my mother.

I was greatly saddened this morning (5/7/2012) as I found out that Bo had passed from this life last October 4th and is now with his beloved Syra that I know he loved missed so much. He was a wonderful friend when I lived in Hendersonville in 2003-2004. He and Syra would visit and I would visit at his apartment, his collections were amazing and he took great pride and joy in sharing them with those who visited him. In this world if there ever was someone who followed the teachings of Jesus, to love your neighbor unconditonally, to care for the sick and feed the needy…it was Bo. He was always helping someone and he found great joy in giving and always lending a helping hand. I will miss his voice on the phone, his humor and his wonderful smile and laughter. But especially…I will miss the Christian witness that he followed so closely in what he did for his neighbors/friends and family. I look forward, one day to seeing Bo and Syra in Heaven where there is no more tears, sickness and death. May the Lord bless his family at this time as we remember Bo in this spring-time where everything comes to life once again-our Lord’s promise of one day being together again with Bo. God bless and comfort you all.

A neighbor and friend-

I was shocked to see this. I was checking on the guestbook for my dear friend Loretta Gail Dickson and saw Roberto – we were in grammar school together at East Flat Rock and Hillendale. The three of us were inseparable. I remember when Roberto moved to our area Gail and I welcomed him and became fast friends. Roberto gave me my first “love letter” I received it in the 4th grade, my how long ago that was, and I have that small piece of paper in my scrapbook and remember it fondly. He never was out of my mind through the years I wondered how he was and Gail could always tell me, now they are both gone and they will be so very missed. I am sure they are having a great time together. I will always remember Roberto and I was very touched to read of all the kindness he spread throughout the community, he is a jewel that shines on us all from the other side. Much love to the family and thanks Roberto for having touched my life!!

Bo, once in a while someone comes into one’s life and knowing that someone makes things so much easier and happier to deal with. Knowing you over the years was a pleasure and upbeat from the word go. I will miss chatting with you and sharing thoughts and ideas from time to time. Knowing you sure made the world a happier place to be. May God Bless and Keep You, and without a doubt Heaven is a much better place to be, knowing you are there.
