Sarah ìFrancesî Gilliam, 75, of Flat Rock went home to be with the Lord Wednesday July 20, 2011. A life-long resident of Henderson County, she was a devoted wife, mother, and Granny who cherished time spent with her family. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of fifty six years, Preston Gilliam; two sons, Glenn Gilliam and his wife Glenda and Steve Gilliam; one daughter, Wanda Moffitt and her husband Bobby; six grandchildren, Terry, Jamie, Jennifer, Jason, Christy and Christopher; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be at 3:00pm Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church. Reverend Lewis Staton will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00pm Sunday at the church.

May God grant you His comfort and peace in this your hour of grief. While parting is only temporary this thought does not erase the pain of seperation but gives us hope of reunion. Frances was very special to Alice and me.
