Sheila H. McMurray, 74, of Hendersonville, passed away Friday, January 13, 2012, at the Elizabeth House, after a courageous battle with cancer. She lived most of her life in Henderson County and was the daughter of the late Carrie Youngblood.
She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, flowers, sitting on the porch and her collection of porcelain shoes. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed staying in touch with her family. She was employed by Becks Pharmacy.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Freddie McMurray; two sons, Charles McMurray and his wife Frankie, and Stephen McMurray, all of Hendersonville; two grandchildren, Tiffanie McMurray and Roger McMurray of Saluda; two brothers, Edward Youngblood and his wife Joyce, Gary Youngblood and his wife Pat; four sisters, Ginny King, Phyllis Swann, Judy Hunter and her husband Tommy, Peggy Blake and her husband Larkin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 15, 2012, in the chapel at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Dan Blackwell. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
