Spurgeon Eugene Justice, 81, of East Flat Rock, passed away at his residence, Friday, April 10, 2009.
A native and lifelong resident, he was the son of the late John and Ada King Justice. His daughter, Maxine Miller also preceded him in death in 2007.
He was employed by Kimberly-Clark and retired in 1985 after 36 years of service. He was a member of Refuge Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Minnie Beck Justice; two daughters, Carolyn Rhodes of Hendersonville and Brenda Miller of Etowah; two brothers, Mike Justice of Etowah and Clyde Justice of Hendersonville; two sisters, Viola Holden of Hendersonville and Mary Ruth Capps of CA.; six grandchildren, Anita Mihalik, Michael and Brian Miller, Pam Gash, Phillip Rhodes and Adam Rhodes; six great-grandchildren, Hunter and Brittany Mihalik, Fallyn and Faith Miller, Gavin and Carly Gash; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A service will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 13, 2009, in the chapel at Forest Lawn Mortuary. Revs. Kenneth Lytle and Allen Melton of GA will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel and at other times will be at 241 Nello Avenue in East Flat Rock. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Guests may sign a register book at www.forestlawnhendersonville.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731 or to the donorís favorite charity.
Forest Lawn Mortuary is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I was so sorry to hear about Mr. Justice’s passing. We always looked forward to him coming into the office. He seemed to show us what a person with determination can do. Now he is able to walk and talk with our Heavenly Father. How wonderful it must have been to see Christ on the anniversary of the day Christ died for our sins!
