Stanley ìStanî M. Martin, 79 of Mills River, died Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Hendersonville Health & Rehabilitation following a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born in Five Pointville, PA to the late David S. Martin and Lydia W. Martin. He is also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Stan has lived in Maryland and Pennsylvania before retiring to North Carolina. He served in the US Army. Stan worked many years as a plumber and also worked for the Review & Herald Publishing Association. He was a member of the Mills River Seventh Day Adventist Church, enjoyed sports & games of all kinds, gardening, served as a church deacon, and enjoyed family reunions.

Stan is survived by his loving wife Mildred M. Martin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Mills River Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Marc Swearingen officiating.
