On the morning of Wednesday, February 15, 2023, surrounded by loved ones following a courageous battle with Leukemia, Terry Michael Gray, Sr. (78) was overwhelmingly welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Do not mourn for him, as he is now most assuredly in the presence of God. Instead, he would want you to one day join him in the celebration of fellowship and eternal worship of our Heavenly Father. And … that can only be accomplished by accepting the free gift of salvation, offered through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Terry lived his life with an abundance of enthusiasm, encouragement for others, and love for his Lord first; followed closely by his family and friends.
Terry was born in Royston, Georgia in September of 1944 to both the late Charles Owen and Doris (Dunn) Gray. Terry honorably and joyfully served his country during the Vietnam War, while in the U.S. Air Force. Professionally, he was always proud to carry on the family name and tradition of working in the dairy industry for more than four decades with both Sealtest and PET Dairies. During his adult life, Terry served in volunteer roles of the church, both as a Sunday School Director and as Chairman of the Board of Deacons
.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife (Brenda Corn Gray) of 57 years. For decades to come, Terry’s legacy will continue to honor and influence the lives of his three children and their spouses, (Mickey & Taletha Gray, Chris & Cherie Gray, and Brandy & Lin Coker); along with his six grandchildren, (Justin & Stephanie Gray, Jordan Snipes, Caleb Gray, Callie Gray, Bella Coker, and Leah Coker).
Encircled by his family and close friends, Terry’s earthly body will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville, North Carolina on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 2:00pm. On the same day, there will be a time for visitation prior to the service, in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00pm.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to SECU Hospice House of Johnston County, 426 Hospital Road, Smithfield, North Carolina 27577.
We are so very sorry for your family’s loss. Prayers for peace and comfort, until you are together again.

Brenda and family, so sorry to hear of the most hilarious. loving Terry passing away. We had such a good time when he delivered milk to Community cash on Main. Then we became friends in the Hendersonville CB club. Those were some good old days. We haven’t seen Terry in a while but the last time was at a church. We will be praying for the arms of God to comfort all of you at this time. Shelia & Stanley Capps
