Thelma Jean Watkins Fletcher, 83, of Hendersonville, NC went home to meet her Lord on October 29, 2023.
Thelma was born on May 8, 1940 to the late Henry Grady Watkins and Margie Ballinger Watkins in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Lucille Watkins Ledbetter. She is survived by her loving son, Elliott, and his wife Mary; sister, Nina Watkins Wilkie, and her husband, Kenneth; nephews, Tony Ledbetter, and Dusty Wilkie, and her niece, Lisa Pursley.
Thelma was a graduate of Edneyville High School, class of 1958 and strived to keep up with her classmates over the years. She had a strong work ethic and pursued careers in secretarial, manufacturing, and service industries.
She enjoyed meeting new people in public and never met a stranger. She had an avid interest in her family history, flowers, recipes, and her only child Elliott. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
Funeral services to honor Thelma‘s life will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 3rd at 2:00 PM with Reverend Kevin Travis officiating. The burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
