Thomas D. Hatchett, 79, of Hendersonville, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the Elizabeth House.  He was born in Corpus Christi, TX, to the late Edmond and MaryAnn Krogh Hatchett.  Prior to living in Henderson, NC, he resided in Fort Worth, TX.  He attended Junior College for two years and served in the U.S. Air Force.  He also retired from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office in 2001.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Judy Pace Hatchett,; sons, Tony Bennett of Hendersonville, Paul Bennett and his wife Teresa of Phenix City, AL; daughter Laura Cole of FL; grandchildren, Jordan Cole and his wife Allie, Montana Stoker and her husband Josiah, Michael Bennet, Maura Bennett, and Kamren Bennett; sister Sallye Young of Weatherford, TX; and nephews Ed Young and his wife Zenobia and Scotty Young and his wife Libby.

A graveside service will be held at two o’clock p.m. on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Matt Morgan officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the graveside in the Chapel of Forest Lawn.

Thomas great man and such a inspiration.He was a great mentor and friend when I worked at the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department. I am sure he will be missed by all of his family and friends.

My HCSO Mentor & dear friend. So sorry I could not make his service. Please know he was instrumental in my life and career through the years. Rest my dear friend. Job well done!

Tom & I worked together for years at the HCSO. Tom was a great guy,
& a trusted friend. He will be truly missed. Prayers for his family.
