Tom Gaffigan was an outstanding teacher and administrator at A-B Tech Community College. He worked diligently as the Dean, Arts and Science Division with faculty and staff to insure students received a quality education. I loved his humor always with a twinkle in his eye, and his compassion for everyone.

In my 25 years at ABTCC, I have had the privilege of working with many talented educators but none with Tom’s particular gifts of leadership. His contribution to the college was substantial and his influence lasting. Whenever I enter the Elm building near his office–which I still think of as his–I remember his kindness and his extraordinary ability to bring so many personalities together into a productive academic community with the feeling of family. My deepest sympathy to Tom’s family.

I was fortunate to teach alongside Tom Gaffigan at Hendersonville High School. He was an excellent teacher. I lost contact with him after he left for A-B Tech. He distinguished himself as a teacher. My sympathy goes out to the family. sincerely, t.orr

Tom Gaffigan was a friend and co-worker for both of us for many years. He was an exemplary college faculty member and administrator. His common sense, personality, and sense of humor were among his many positive qualities. It hurts to lose a good friend!
