Thursal Elmina Duncan Holbert, 86, of Hendersonville passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Elizabeth House following a long illness. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Eliza Duncan, and the wife of the late Frank Holbert who died in 1953. She worked with Phillips-Magnavox in Arden for over thirty years.

Survivors include six sons, Harold W. Holbert of Zirconia, James F. Holbert of Fruitland, Raleigh H. Holbert of Mt. Holly, Marvin T. Holbert of Hendersonville, Sherman A. Holbert of Hendersonville, Regan A. Constant, Jr. of Mt. Holly; three daughters, Vera H. King of Edneyville, Darlene H, Gallimore of Mt. Holly, Linda C. Alwran of Mt. Holly; twenty-eight grandchildren; forty-eight great grandchildren; twenty-four great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 23, 2009 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Mortuary. The Revs. Bill Wooten, Lawrence Russell, Joe George, and Mr. William Boyd will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday at Forest Lawn Mortuary, and at other times will be at 602 Duncan Hill Road. Memorials may be made to Research for Autism by going to www.walknowforautism.org/broward/contes.

Forest Lawn Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

It was a sad day to learn of the loss of Aunt Thursal. She and Virgie was my most favorite. I can many good days at her house as a kid, playing with Marvin and Sherman…Doug

I am so sorry of the passing of Thurshal. She was one of the greatest people that I have ever known.would do anything for anyone.Mike really enjoyed working with her.They are in heaven now.
