Timothy Adam Grover, our beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, died unexpectedly Thursday, November 9th, 2023 in Hendersonville, North Carolina. He was 40 years old.

We miss him so much.

Tim was born on March 21st, 1983 in Renton, Washington to Robert and Susan Grover, parents who loved him. He was a playful child who loved video games, playing in the woods, singing, guitar, and acting on stage. He graduated from Kentlake High School in Kent, Washington in 2001.

Post high school, Tim embarked on a transformative journey, spending two years in the West Indies, where he served and taught the people there as a missionary. He looked back on his years in the islands with fondness and was looking forward to a future opportunity to return.

Tim’s early years shaped a character defined by kindness and compassion for all.

He met the greatest love of his life, Maria Tyree, while in college. They were married in 2004. In 2016, Tim graduated from UNLV with a masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Tim and Maria moved to Hendersonville, North Carolina, where they found their forever home. Tim began a career as a Marriage and Family Therapist, and later joined forces with Maria to grow her company, Maria Lynn Dolls. They worked hard together, and found success.

Tim is remembered for his pure kindness. He had the unique ability to see the good in every person. He never left anyone feeling unloved. Early in their marriage he would concern Maria with stories of picking up random hitchhikers in Las Vegas on his way home from work. He was just so good. He was endlessly patient, gentle with all, his hands were soft, his voice was beautiful.

Tim was a man of many passions. He loved music and games. He loved to play the guitar. He loved to sing. He loved to read, especially high fantasy books. He loved to learn: he was so smart and was always ready with a random interesting fact. He loved to cook–he teased he would retire to work in a restaurant just so he could chop vegetables all day. He had an infectious laugh and he was well known by his family for all of his “dad jokes”.

But of all his passions, there was none greater than his passion for his 6 children. They were Tim’s whole heart, the stars that lit up his universe. Katelyn is 17, Claire is 15, Breanne is 12, Matthew is 10, Nathan is 5, and Hazel is nearly 2. Tim had unique nicknames for each of his kids, and his greatest joy was celebrating their talents and interests. It didn’t matter how Tim was feeling, what he was doing, or what challenges life presented, he would always put on his happiest face for his children. He loved them so much.

Timothy Adam Grover leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. We are blessed to have had him in our lives, and we are better people because we knew him. He left us far too soon, but his life was well lived. He may be gone, but his legacy of loving others will endure.

Rest now Timmer Tim. You are missed more than words can express, but we have faith in the promise that families can be together forever.

Until we meet again.

Tim is survived by his wife Maria and their six children, Katelyn, Claire, Breanne, Matthew, Nathan, and Hazel; his parents Robert and Susan Grover; and his siblings, Dan Grover, Aaron Grover, Andy Grover, and Robyn Robison.

A funeral service celebrating Tim’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 17th, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2005 Brevard Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28791.

Flowers can be sent to Forest Lawn Funeral home, 538 Tracy Grove Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28792

I appreciate being around Tim as one of his youth leaders. He always wore a smile, enjoyed life in the outdoors and being just a great person who was friends to all. I watched him grow through his youth to become a man that respected and looked upto his friends, family, and God. Thankful for the time I had spent with Tim.
