Vera Lanning Spicer King, 75, of Hendersonville passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Elizabeth House.
A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Birtteener Lanning and the wife of the late Boyde Spicer, James Spicer, and Gene King.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Beulah, Frank, Douglas, Fred, Nellie Sue, and Roger Dale; her children, Greg Spicer and Teresa Hailey; a granddaughter, Tabitha Spicer; two great-grandsons, Zeb and Zack.
She worked as a nurse at Pardee Hospital, and was of the Mormon faith.
She is survived by a son, Boyde Spicer of Asheville; five grandchildren, T.J. and Brandon Chastain of CA, Joseph and Charity Spicer of Hendersonville, and Chad Sharpe of Arden and a number of nieces and nephews.
At her request, no services are planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, nC 28731.
