Vincent Lee Pace, 86, went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 17, 2023, at the Village of Summerville after battling an aggressive case of Lewy Body dementia.
A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was the son of the late Herbert J. Pace and Joyce Hill Pace. Vincent was also preceded in death by his wife June Burrell Pace, his brother Larry D. Pace, niece Julie Pace, and nephew Dean Pace.
Born December 2, 1936, he was the first baby of Dana Baptist Church where he was a member and served as a deacon, treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent, church bus driver, and groundskeeper throughout the years. He graduated from Dana High School in 1954, where he developed lifelong friendships with his classmates. He proudly served in the North Carolina National Guard from 1955 – 1961. He maintained a connection to the family’s farming endeavors but was primarily employed in the manufacturing industry, retiring from GE Lighting in 1998 at age 62. During recent years, Vincent spent his winters in the Lowcountry of SC and enjoyed summers in Western, NC.
He is survived by his daughter Joyce “Elaine” Pace-Reed and her husband Joel B. Reed of Summerville, SC, brother H. Wayne Pace and wife Joann, sister-in-law Reisa Pace, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends who will miss his smile, hugs, and love for the Lord.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Dana Baptist Church 37 Buttercup Fields Lane Hendersonville, NC 28792. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Forest Lawn Chapel in Hendersonville NC, on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Vincent’s memory to Dana Baptist Church, PO Box 377, Dana, NC 28724, or Scots Kirk Presbyterian Church, 1435 Old Trolley Rd, Summerville, SC 29485.

Vincent was such a kind, caring man. I have lots of childhood memories growing up at Dana Baptist with the Pace family. Vincent always greeted you with a smile and a big hug!! He was definitely one of the good ones! ❤️
