Virginia L. Kaymen, (nee Lewin) 92, of Hendersonville, NC, formerly of Gurnee, IL, passed away Friday, October 9, 2009.
Born on the Lewin farm in Wadsworth, IL, she was the youngest of five children to the late William and Anne Lewin.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley; a sister, Eva Shirk; and three brothers, Earl, Merrill, and Virgil Lewin.
A 1934 graduate of Warren Township High School, she was a leader of Brownie and Girl Scout Troops in Waukegan and was a volunteer for fifteen years at Victory Memorial Hospital. She was recognized by the Waukegan Park District as Volunteer of the Year in 1998. She was a member of the Womenís Golf League at Bonnie Brook Golf Club. She was a long time resident of Gurnee and was a member of the Gurnee Community Church. She worked in Public Relations at Johnson Motors and worked in the Credit Department for Deep Freeze Corp.
She is survived by a daughter, Gay Wojick and her husband Richard; three grandsons, Douglas, David, and Bradley; four great-granddaughters, Cassandra, Allyson, Sarah, and McKenna and one great-grandson, Brooks.
A memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 14, 2009, at the Gurnee Community Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life 571 South Allen Rd. Flat Rock, NC 28731.
