Walter J. Thomas, Sr., 83, of Etowah passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Mission Hospital following a sudden illness. He retired after working over forty years as an automobile dealer and consultant. His favorite hobbies were deep-sea fishing and playing golf.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Eleanor Thomas; three sons, Steven Thomas and his wife Dot of Macon, GA, Mark Thomas and his wife Jaynean of Orlando, FL, Wally Thomas of Denver, NC; three grandchildren, Ross, Craig, Whitney; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 am Saturday in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel.

My condolences to all of you. Wally was a wonderful father to you boys and you are fortunate to be left with such fond memories of wonderful times you spent together. A beautiful legacy.

This is Timothy, and i am very sad about what happened to Walter Sr. As long as i new him, i thought he was pretty cool and fun to be around, from all the storys Wally has told me about him, he sounds like a great guy, i am very sorry what happened. He will have a pain free life in heaven.
