Wayne F. Blumer, 75, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 7, 2012.
Mr. Blumer was born in Iowa and resided in Michigan most of his life. He was a resident of Henderson County for 20 years. He was the oldest of five boys born to the late Fred and Mildred Blumer. Wayne was preceded in death by his brother Larry Blumer.
He was a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for over thirty years before retiring in 1992. Wayne was a member of Bethany Bible Church, a loving husband, father and Papa, and will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years B. Joy Blumer; daughters, Brenda Goodall and husband, Tim of Simpsonville, SC, Linda Cramer and husband David of Hendersonville; son, Alan Blumer and fiancÈe Sandy Tou of Raleigh; brothers, David Blumer and wife Darlene, Paul Blumer and wife Lisa, Roger Blumer and wife Ruth; sister-in-law, Rhoda Blumer; grandchildren, Joshua, Kevin and Tiffany McNally and Jeanine Goodall; and many niece and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, March 11, 2012 in Bethany Bible Church. Pastors George Stiekes, Greg Stiekes and Assoc. Pastor Ryan Martin will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, and from 2 to 3 pm, one hour prior to the service in the church. Entombment will be private.

My prayers are with Wayne as he continues his journey to eternal peace and with Joy and his family who will miss him.
Wayne and Joy were special people to Roger and myself. Wayne will be missed dearly, and Joy with her faith, family and friend’s hopefully find some comfort and and God’s given ability to handel this hard time. Wayne gave it a good fight, he definately will be missed, especially when he would stop by the yard to “rest”. Our Love and Prayers to Joy and family.

Wayne was a very good friend, We met both him and his wife, Joy at the Coffee Club and enjoyed their company.He will be missed.
